Just asking (34): What mind can pen this prequel?
A long long time ago we watched the first Star Wars movie.
It was epic.
Then there came the sequel, then another sequel, then another.
It was growing less epic.
Suddenly there arrived a PREQUEL.
That was the first I heard of such a word and such a concept.
So interesting.
It expanded the imagination to no bounds.
Then I began to pay attention to terms such as Preowned and even Preloved.
Language gives birth to descriptions of realities.
But can any prequel really beat this?
In the beginning God created heaven and earth.
That’s as epic as one can get.
The beginning words of the biblical book Genesis.
In fact the first three words form the title: Genesis.
Regardless of your religion, this surely strikes you with the sense of reaching the beginning.
There should be no prequel to Genesis.
You would think.
Until someone named Paul beat George Lucas (of Star Wars fame).
Paul takes the readers way way back to a frame of film which lies at a much long long time before God created heaven and earth!
“Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ. For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before him in love.” (Eph 1: 3-4, NET)
Who could have envisaged what God did before the creation of heaven and earth?
What mind of a human who could have penned such a preEPIC prequel?
Just asking.
